Y Welcomes New Aquatics CoordinatorPaula Van Tyle-Smith

The Y is pleased to welcome Paula Van Tyle-Smith as its new Aquatics Coordinator. Paula, who grew up in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, has loved water and swimming from an early age. She swam competitively for ten years, starting at age 7, and was a summer lifeguard at her local pool.

In addition to her aquatics background, Paula has been a certified Pilates, Yoga, PiYo, Piloxing and Beachbody Boot Camp instructor since 2000.
She has lived in northern Ohio and southern Indiana, and moved to Washington in August 2016. Paula has a 23 year old daughter and a son who is a junior at Rose-Hulman. In her free time, she is working on "slowly renovating parts of my home."
Paula says of her new position, "I love being a member of the Y team and look forward to serving our community." Please give her a big welcome next time you see her on the pool deck.
