The Daviess County Family YMCA makes support and opportunities accessible to empower children, youth and adults to learn, grow and thrive. With a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y nurtures the potential of every youth and teen, improves our communiity's health and well-being and provides opportunities to give back and support our neighbors.

Youth Basketball

The season begins on the weekend on January 10 - 11, and will end in late February. Divisions are open for ages 4 through 12. Registration is now open and closes December 5.

Better Weigh Challenge Begins

Program Orientation for Better Weigh will be held on Tuesday, January 13. This three month program helps participants start healthy lifestyle as they learn about eating right, being active and managing life at the same time.

7th Annual Y Indoor Tri

Mark your calendars and start training. The Y's 7th Annual Indoor Tri will be held on Saturday, March 7. Triathletes will swim, bike and run indoors for 15 minutes each leg. Scores are based on distance completed, not on time. Athletes may compete individually or on a team.

DuckiesDuckies and Jr. Duckies Jr. Ducky

Duckies and Jr. Duckies recreational swim teams meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 8 p.m. This is a practice-based swim workout for adults, and youth who have previously been on the Y's summer swim team. Adults should have a basic swimming proficiency, including the ability to swim 25 meters.

Ages 12 and up may participate in Jr. Duckies without an adult present. For ages 6 to 11, an adult must be on deck, or participating in Duckies.

Cost: $20 a month for Members; $40 a month for Program Members; $50 a month for Family


After School Child Care

The Y's After School Child Care program provides after school programming for students in grades K-6, Monday through Friday until 6 p.m. The program meets at North Elementary. School bus transportation to North is provided to students attenting other elementary schools. Registration is now open.

Swim Lessons

swimDo your children want to learn to swim? Sign them up for swim lessons at the YMCA.

Days....Tuesdays and Thursdays
Times....6:00pm - 6:30 pm

Who....Youth ages 3-13
Fees...$26 for YMCA members and $48 for Program members (4 week month, or two week, four day sessions)
...$32.50 for YMCA members and $60 for Program members (5 week month)

The Y Awarded $500 Grant

The Daviess Count Family Y was recentally awarded $500 by the REMC Community Fund. This money will be used to purchase manikens and supplies for the Red Cross CPR classes which are held every third Saturday at the YMCA. To register for a class, call the Y or stop by the front desk.
